Steven is from Glasgow, Scotland and has lived on Vancouver Island for 20 years. Steven has worked extensively with the street community in Victoria and has spent the last five and a half years working in a maximum security institution for BC corrections. After deciding he needed a change, he reached out to Cedars, where he had worked before heading off to try jail life for a bit.

As well as bringing experience working with these different demographics, Steven has over two decades of personal recovery from addiction and is active in his own recovery and has graduated from the University of Victoria with a BSW.

Steven lives with his wife and son in Metchosin and spends his days off enjoying the trails and lakes close by. A recent recipient of a stand up paddle board Steven can be found at Matheson Lake in Metchosin most weekends.
