Marla Jardine
Registered Psychiatric Nurse / Facilitator
Introducing Marla Jardine, your friendly and approachable Island-born woman from Victoria! With a passion for healing and a joyful spirit, delighted to be here at Cedars! Marla is deeply influenced by her personal experiences witnessing the impact of addiction within her own family. This connection fuels her unwavering dedication to support individuals navigating chemical dependency, co-occurring disorders, and eating disorders. Marla's own journey of healing through long-term participation in Step programs gives her a profound understanding of the challenges her patients may face.
Marla cherishes her relationships with her six grandchildren, who bring love and laughter from Australia, Fort St. John, and Calgary. She also finds immense joy and companionship in the company of Ruby, her delightful 15-week-old border collie pup. Together, they form a dynamic duo eager to bring positivity to the Cedars community.
Marla's adventures have taken her to Nunavut, the Yukon, and Port Hardy, where she had the privilege of working closely with Indigenous communities. These experiences have nurtured her understanding of the unique challenges faced by Indigenous peoples and deepened her commitment to providing culturally sensitive support. Her work with the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) has further enriched her understanding and appreciation of Indigenous healing practices.
During her free time, Marla immerses herself in activities that nourish her own well-being. She seeks solace and inspiration in hiking amidst nature's embrace, finds mindfulness and peace through yoga, expresses her authentic self through the language of dance, and embraces the healing power of music.
Marla's warm and compassionate nature, nurtured by her personal journey and dedication to healing, allows her to contribute her unique blend of skills, humor, and lived experience to Cedars. She envisions a world where empathic connections and compassionate support create a pathway for healing and recovery, empowering individuals to reclaim their lives and thrive once again.
